I've often wondered where cuteness comes from. Is it something that can be created at will, or is there a finite amount in the universe that everyone must draw on? Along this line, I've recently heard that all cute girls stay that way by performing ritualistic daily sacrifice of kittens.

Re: Is this true?
Tue, May 3, 2005 - 10:15 PMI've often heard that our appreciation of cuteness is an unconscious expression of our feelings of pity. It comes from the important requirement that we appreciate helplessness so that we don't eat our own annoying children. Basically, "cute" and "pathetic" are pretty much the same thing.
Oh, wow... did I just say that? :) -

Jerk? You're lucky you're so cute, Skippy, or I'd have half a mind to eat you.

Re: cute
Fri, May 13, 2005 - 2:17 PMThis is great, but what about THE KITTENS?
Does Meg Ryan sacrafice like ten of them each day?
Where do they all come from?
Is there a global wholesale kitten import/export trade for this purpose?
I have to know! -

Thu, May 19, 2005 - 12:21 PMThere is no conspiracy. God takes care of the killing, the cute ones simply perform a personal ritual...
