Is this true?

I've often wondered where cuteness comes from. Is it something that can be created at will, or is there a finite amount in the universe that everyone must draw on? Along this line, I've recently heard that all cute girls stay that way by performing ritualistic daily sacrifice of kittens.

I've often heard that our appreciation of cuteness is an unconscious expression of our feelings of pity. It comes from the important requirement that we appreciate helplessness so that we don't eat our own annoying children. Basically, "cute" and "pathetic" are pretty much the same thing.

Oh, wow... did I just say that? :)
